Four Zones
10 total miles.
WU 2-3M w/optional striders
WO Run 1-2M at 75-80% (~ marathon pace)
1M at 80-85% (~half marathon pace)
1M at 85-90% (~10K pace)
1M at 90-95% (~5K pace).
This can be done continuously or with 2:00 recovery jog.
CD 1-3M
Tip: The temptation is to run the early easier miles too hard. This will jeopardize the speed on the last 10K and 5K pace miles. This is also a great exercise to learn effort control which proves invaluable on race day.
