About the 2019 Personal Best 5 World Championship

This year's distance will again be 5K, run in conjunction with the Tuxedo Brothers "Call Me Al 5K".  Here are some of the benefits of adopting this race as our championship.

>Many of you have been looking for a 5K PR only to be derailed by long or short courses.  This course has a few turns in the first and last 400m, but is otherwise set up to run fast. Weather cooperation is the biggest variable, but we should be ready for warm weather by August for 5K.

>PBT participants will get a PBTWC t-shirt and I will again age & gender grade the race.

>This is a race that has been held for years but is small enough we have a positive impact on the participation and competition.  Last year’s PBT results are posted below.

>We will have the benefit of an existing event and the accompanying logistical support.

>Saint Alphonsus offers this race as a fundraiser for the people of Croix Fer, Haiti by supporting work towards clean water and education in many aspects from buildings to teachers to food for hungry children.  This continues the Personal Best 5 tradition of supporting worthwhile programs helping people in need.

>It's a great time to get together with teammates that are not able to attend group workouts on a regular basis due to schedule or location.

>The race course is very close to the Zionsville rail trail so it will be easy to add some longer cool-down mileage for those wanting more.

Register for the race.
